Steps to Make Samosa

1. Prepare the Dough

1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and oil. Mix until the flour becomes crumbly.

2. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, firm dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the Filling

1. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.

2. Add the spices and stir for 1 minute.

3. Mix in the mashed potatoes, peas, and cooked meat. Cook for 2–3 minutes. Adjust seasoning. Let it cool.

3. Shape the Samosa

1. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle and cut in half.

2. Shape each half into a cone, sealing the edges with water.

3. Fill the cone with 1–2 tablespoons of the prepared filling, then seal the top.

4. Fry the Samosas

1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

2. Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind sauce, or ketchup.

Chef Amina’s Tips

Keep the dough firm to ensure crispy samosas.

For healthier options, you can bake the samosas at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.

This recipe makes about 6 samosas, perfect for Chef Amina and her two friends to enjoy as a light meal or snack.
