MINI CHIN CHIN BY CHEF AMINA 👩‍🍳

Chef Amina and Her Famous Mini Chin Chin

Chef Amina was the queen of snacks. While she was known for her wide variety of treats, her mini chin chin was the real showstopper. Crisp, sweet, and perfectly bite-sized, it was a delight that everyone—from schoolchildren to grandmothers—couldn’t get enough of.

Ingredients:

3 cups of all-purpose flour

1/2 cup of sugar

1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

A pinch of salt

1/2 cup of butter (softened)

2 eggs

1/2 cup of evaporated milk (or water)

Vegetable oil for frying

The Process:

Early in the morning, Chef Amina started by sifting the flour into a big bowl, adding sugar, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. With her skilled hands, she rubbed in the butter until the mixture became crumbly. Next came the eggs and milk, which she mixed in to form a soft, pliable dough.

She rolled the dough out on a floured surface, expertly cutting it into tiny squares with a sharp knife. “The smaller, the better!” she would say with a grin.

Once the oil was hot, Amina carefully dropped the dough pieces in batches. They sizzled and danced in the golden oil, puffing up and turning a beautiful shade of brown. Using a slotted spoon, she scooped them out and let them cool, their crispiness evident with every touch.

By the time the first batch was ready, a queue had already formed. “Chef Amina’s chin chin is the best!” a little girl exclaimed, stuffing a handful into her mouth.

Amina chuckled, packing more chin chin into bags for her eager customers. “It’s the love and care that makes it special,” she said, her face glowing with pride.

From weddings to birthday parties, Chef Amina’s mini chin chin found its way to every celebration. But for her, the real joy was seeing her neighbors savor the treats she made with so much love.
